Community Care Center

About

Together with Providence St. Peter Hospital, in collaboration with other local nonprofit organizations we helped to create The Providence Community Care Center (CCC). The CCC provides a single point of access for a range of services from different agencies and organizations for folks on the streets.

Service partners are co-located at the CCC, offering access to long-term primary and behavioral health care, shelter options, state support services through DSHS, resources to help clients find and keep permanent housing, a weekly medical clinic and a weekly wound care clinic offered by the Olympia Free Clinic. IW Shelter staff run the day room and hygiene services including bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Central to the CCC's core values are the concepts of accessibility, safety, dignity, personal choice, collaboration and compassion.

Visitor Expectations

Come as you are. Accept others as they are.
Treat yourself and everyone with respect and dignity.

Be Safe, Act Safe
No violence; Homophobia, transphobia, racism, and sexism are all considered forms of violence. Violence includes physical contact, sexual harassment, verbal and emotional abuse or threat of abuse.

Respect the Routine
Arrive on time, leave on time, shower within your given time frame, only do laundry within your given time, retrieve belongings by the given time, etc.

No Sex/Nudity in the Common Areas

Respect and Protect the Space
Clean up after yourself, help out if you can, pickup track outside, no illegal activity, etc.

No Drug Use/Dealing
While we can’t have drugs/drug use on the property, we want to create an environment where people can talk openly about their use. If you have used and are at risk of overdose or worried about your safety, please tell us! We are here to help and want you to be as safe as possible. Being open and honest with us will not jeopardize your ability to access the CCC.

Take Responsibility for Yourself and Your Belongs
(This includes bikes and pets.)
No bikes are allowed in the CCC unless disassembled. Only one bike per person. We cannot accommodate carts in the building at any time. All visitors with pets must follow the pet policy.

NOTE
If you are unable to meet these expectations, we may ask you to leave. We take denying access to services very seriously. Our goal is to resolve a situation before asking someone to leave. We make barring decisions with our best judgment, compassion and only to re-establish safety at the Community Care Center.
