OpportunitiesEmergency Overnight Shelter & 2828 Martin Way
Now operating 24/7! We have great need of meal donations to support our extended hours. Please click the button below to see availability. (At the moment we are not scheduling shift volunteers due to social distancing.) Meals are for 25-30 guests, and can be safely homemade or ordered from a local restaurant. What Volunteers Do
Our volunteers primarily support our staff, assist with guests needs, cleaning, laundry, making coffee, organizing, occasionally running errands, and being available to meet our guests and get to know them.
Due to Covid 19, we have suspended in-person volunteering for the health and safety of our guests and our community. Additionally, we have volunteers, (families, church groups, community groups, etc.) bring in hot meals to our Nightly Shelter in the evenings. We do not have cooking facilities, so all meals that are brought in must be in a crockpot, casserole dish or a container that can be packed in/packed out. Our guests love high-quality meat, fresh veggies, fresh fruit, and delicious drinks. We find that cooking for 40 is generally the sweet spot. Please bring paper plates and utensils if possible. If you are interested in donating meals, we ask that you contact us directly through our volunteer form to talk through what that might look like. |
