1. Navigation Team Program Supervisor
We support our neighbors living on the streets, in wooded areas, cars, under awnings, in alcoves, and in abandoned buildings. Referrals and supportive services are provided on-site at the Unity Commons Shelter.

The Interfaith Works Homeless Services program has two core programs: Unity Commons and the Navigation Team. At Unity Commons we provide 24/7 shelter services, basic needs coordination, and daytime services for adult individuals/couples without children of all genders experiencing homelessness. We support our neighbors living on the streets, in wooded areas, cars, under awnings, in alcoves, and in abandoned buildings. We are deeply committed to best practices of Housing First, Harm Reduction, and Trauma Informed Care. The IW homeless services programs are dedicated to providing emergency services and support to those in need, not as charity but as an act of social justice. |
Our second core program within homeless services is the Navigation Team. The Navigation Team is based on a peer support model of community advocacy and case management. As a team of 8 - 10 certified peers, they operate 3 subprograms:

- Guest Support Team
- Provides peer support advocacy, case management, and supportive services connection to Unity Commons Shelter guests.
- Restorative Experience for a Safer Transition (REST) medical respite
- Provides peer support case management through a respite referral program. Respite beds are contracted through local Providence and Multicare hospitals. Referrals receive intensive peer support case management during their short term respite stay.
- Unity Commons Permanent Supportive Housing
- Provides peer support case management for residents of the Unity Commons apartments, works in partnership with the Low Income Housing Institute to offer peer-led services and run apartment community events.

2. IW Homeless Services On-Call Support Staff Position

3. Executive Assistant Position
The Executive Assistant will work to support the Executive Director, and the Administrative Office in general, in their work primarily through assisting with projects and tasks as directed. They will manage and respond/elevate general inquiries by phone, email, drop in, or website. The Executive Assistant will also manage scheduling and prioritization of communications for the executive director, take on small organizational projects, and more generally add to the smooth operations of the Administrative Office. This position’s work will be dynamic and flexible, responding to day-to-day concerns, and supporting the executive director and administrative team.

4. REST Program Navigator
The Interfaith Works REST pilot project is finishing its eighth month of partnership between Interfaith Works, Providence St. Peter Hospital, and Multicare Capital Medical Center. The project provides 6 dedicated 24/7 shelter beds complete with wrap around case management, hygiene services, and meals. The program is designed to offer patients experiencing homelessness the opportunity for additional time to heal from their acute medical issue, post-acute care, or acute flare-up of chronic health conditions. When referred by the appropriate healthcare provider staff, REST will provide a short-term (up to 30 days), safe, resource-rich environment in which to recover while engaging in community health support services to address basic needs, connection to primary care, and housing resources.

Peer Experience
We seek out candidates who share life experiences with our guests. While it is not required for any of our positions, the state of Washington offers a training course to become a Certified Peer Counselor (CPC). More information can be found here.
